Your statutory warranty of quality
The Consumer Protection Act gives you an implied warranty that goods meet the quality standards in section 55. This protection applies by law; it is not an optional store warranty.
If the chair fails those standards within six months after delivery, you may direct us to repair it, replace it or refund the price. We carry the risk and expense of the return and lawful remedy. If a repair does not remedy the problem, or a further failure, defect or unsafe feature is discovered within three months after the repair, we will replace the chair or refund you as required by section 56.
What the quality standards cover
Goods must be reasonably suitable for their usual purpose, of good quality and in good working order, free of defects, and usable and durable for a reasonable period having regard to their normal use and surrounding circumstances. They must also match material descriptions or approved samples.
What may not be a defect
Normal wear, damage caused after delivery by misuse, an accident, unauthorised alteration, or use contrary to clear instructions may not be a product defect. We assess the facts fairly. This does not let us exclude liability for an undisclosed defect, unsafe product, misleading instruction, inadequate warning, or another right that the CPA protects.
Any additional express warranty
An additional warranty applies only if its duration, scope and conditions were clearly stated on the product page and recorded with your order. It adds to your statutory rights and never replaces or shortens them. No unadvertised warranty period is implied by this notice.
Making a claim
Use the public returns page with your order number and email used for the order, use your account, or contact [Complete before publication: customer-service email address]. Describe the problem and provide photographs if reasonably available. We may arrange collection and a fair technical assessment, but we will not impose a repair-first policy during the six-month CPA election period.
Product safety and damage
Stop using a chair that appears unsafe and contact us promptly. Nothing here excludes strict product-liability rights under CPA section 61 or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Help with a dispute
